Books-to-Action
Global warming and environmental activism are the themes for the next meeting of Books-To-Action, which will take place on Saturday, April 8 at 2 p.m.Books-to-Action is a social justice book club for kids and families, and our April theme is designed to connect to both the April 22 March for Science and the April 29 People's Climate March.
At our April 8 meeting, we’ll read and discuss books about people who have focused on improving the environment, and then we’ll create signs and buttons for the two marches. Our program is best for ages 5 up because of the length and themes of the books we’ll be reading, but younger children also are welcome. No registration required. And, if you can come a bit early, the city of Takoma Park is celebrating Arbor Day from 10-2 with the annual tree seedling give-away on the Library lawn.
